Porcelain with marks in the form of 6 or 4 characters in normal Chinese script form, again usually seen on the base of an item. They were originally formulated in respect of the reign of the emperor of that time. Please note normal Chinese script form were believed to be introduced in the marking of porcelain going back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and following through into the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). Please note copies of normal Chinese script marks have been used in porcelain in respect of previous emperors through the Qing Dynasty/Republic Period up until now in the 21st century. Chinese Porcelain also comes in various palettes, e.g. Famille Rose, Famille Verte (predominately green), Famille Noir (predominately black), Famille Jaune, blue and white etc.
